What does any of this have to do with the election? We tried Wikipedia next...
"A swing state, in United States presidential politics, is a state in which no candidate has overwhelming support, meaning that any of the major candidates have a reasonable chance of winning the state's electoral college votes. Such states are targets of both major political parties in presidential elections, since winning these states is the best opportunity for a party to gain electoral votes. Non-swing states are sometimes called safe states, because one candidate has strong enough support that they can safely assume they will win the state's votes."
So what's it to us? This election, no matter what side of the aisle your on, is one of the most important elections this country has ever held. It is absolutely historic. Either way you look at it, we're going to witness history. Either way you look at it, a minority will be seated at one of the highest posts of our nation.
If there were ever an election to engage in the political process; it's this one. So next time you're grabbing from food or drink, or are standing in line for a party, try to encourage those around you to learn the issues and register to vote. Why? Because in Michigan, every vote counts. Michigan is a key swing state (yay we used it in a sentence!) in this year's election, so you'll be seeing an awful lot of the candidate's in the next few months.
